Back at it again!
FlowRider, Inc., in conjunction with their North American licensee, Aquatic Development Group, is proud to announce that is this new FlowRider location is on the cusp of opening right outside of Orlando, Florida at The Grove Resort & Spa’s Surfari Waterpark.
Most hotels have some sort of pool to plunge into, but not all of them have a FlowRider surf simulator in a world-class waterpark. Luxury accommodations call for luxury amenities, right?!
We have seen the central Florida flowboarders community struggle since the closing of the famous Fantasy Surf venue. That was the ultimate indoor wave location, but now there are almost 10 waves providing a chance to Go With The Flow™ and The Grove will be at the top of the list for popular flow locations in the Sunshine State.
The Grove Resort & Spa, a Benchmark property, is a lush and expansive 106-acre hotel destination that is just minutes from Disneyworld®. Lake Austin is one of the centerpieces of the whole property. In fact, portions of the property borders Central Florida’s conservation grounds. The “quiet part of town” element of this beautiful property definitely attracts guests and now the cool factor of a full on waterpark with a FlowRider in it will too!
“I grew up in Florida, I have been to many resorts in the greater Orlando area. This is a phenomenal resort and people are going to love this place,” Adam Muller, FlowRider Retail and FLOW Tour Manager, said after getting back from training The Grove’s new staff.
When Adam was onsite with the staff, he got them pumped up to be part of the Flow Family and made absolute sure they knew the basic training operations and techniques of loading from the side and how to teach guests properly in efforts to proved the best and safest experience.
“Adam provided an awesome training session! He (Adam) is definitely born to teach the sport and I couldn’t have asked for better support! We are all now obsessed with the wave!” mentions Ashley Sorto, the Recreational Manager onsite.
After that initial and thorough basic training, he was able to teach the staff some more advanced ways to safely enter the ride and also a few tricks!

Jonathan Destouche, featured in the video above had this to say about his experience during the training session. “I can’t thank Adam and Sean enough for coming out to the Grove, it was very helpful and I was immediately starting to stand a little longer on the board after they got me going!”
Obviously Orlando is a popular travel destination, so people have many choices from which to choose when they are searching for a hotel in the area. The new FlowRider Double at The Grove will undoubtedly steer families, especially those with tweens and teens, to book with them and most likely become repeat guests for years to come!
Additionally, our team is working behind the scenes to put together a FlowRider Expo and competition at Surfari Waterpark during the US FLOW Tour National Championship week!
Fun fact: 6x World Champions and 5x National Champion, Sean Silveira, lives within 10 minutes driving distance of the new location! “This is going to do wonders for my FLOW Tour training,” Silveira explains.
Needless to say, Sean is super pumped to say the least and will be making frequent appearances at The Grove to shred on their FlowRider Double.
