US FLOW Tour Championship Week & National Championships

IT ALL COMES DOWN TO THIS… 3 waves, 1 state!

Once again the FLOW Tour’s Championship Week is taking place in Utah; this week is always one of the most exciting legs of competition! 3 competitions in a 4 day period. And the action doesn’t stop there!

“The state of Utah has one of the largest rider bases and a top-level competitive field,” explains Adam Muller, FLOW Tour Coordinator. “If you want to challenge yourself in a competition, this is the place to do it,” Muller added

Last season we saw riders battle it out down to the final runs of the season to determine who would earn the rights to call themselves a FLOW Tour US National Champ and have bragging rights among their friendly rivals and toughest competitors.

Going into Championship Week, the current and back-to-back defending Champion, Jake Chipman, is the Tour front runner in Pro Flowboard. While he is very familiar with all three waves on the schedule, he will be looking to hold off top contenders like Sean Silveira, Taylor Hales, Nate Murray and huge pool of Utah talent.

The Pro Bodyboard Division is going to come down to the wire.  Defending Tour and World Champ Nick Sanchez, Former World Champion (2012) Daniel Tarapchak and 5x Tour and World Champion, Nick Nguyen, all have a shot of taking home the title.

For the Women’s Division, Austyn Victoria Bynon has strategically been stacking points all season long towards earning her first Women’s Pro Flowboard Title, all she needs to do is keep pace and finish out the season strong.

Since the Utah leg is comprised of one Pro/Am and two Prime Stop competitions, competitors from all over the country can’t resist making the trek.  Our super interconnected and awesome flow family makes these events worth it in every way.  There is bound to be a lot of action happening on and off the waves!

The first contest is on August 2nd is at Lindon Aquatic Center, followed by Provo Beach on August 3rd. There is a much-needed break on Friday and then the final event kicks into action on Saturday (August 5th) at FlowRider Utah in Ogden.

Even though there is a break on Friday, it will by no means be boring.  Flowboarders are welcome to join in on some or all of the action off the wave.

In conjunction with Surf Ogden and Pepsi, FlowRider Utah will be hosting a “Do Good” community service project in an effort to give back.  Those who participates in the “Do Good” community project will be entitled to a complimentary one hour session at FlowRider Utah, following the completion of the project!  Score!

For preregistered competitors, there will also be complimentary practice, Pros (11am-12pm/Media Session) and Amateurs (7-8pm) as well as a Themed Practice Party (8-10pm), where everyone is invited to shred and hang lose before the final competition of the season!

At the end of the competition on Saturday, the Hilton Garden Inn will host a banquet dinner and awards ceremony for the final competition, overall season rankings and honorary mention awards.  The Awards and FLOW Tour After party will start approximately around 7:30pm.

We look forward to seeing the FLOW FAMILY come together as we close the books on another season!
